UNSW Sydney has received approval for a new 12-storey education building (G25) in Kensington’s upper campus.
G25, part of UNSW’s Campus Development Plan, will feature flexible classrooms, three large teaching venues, informal study spaces and social areas, and clinic and research space for UNSW’s School of Psychology.
Aside from academic amenities, G25 will include landscaped terraces, a café, and neurodiversity-friendly spaces, all intended to support overall student wellbeing and campus culture.
G25 is designed to be energy efficient and streamlined for active travel on campus, including bicycle parking and ‘end-of-trip’ facilities. The public domain surrounding nearby Gate 11 will also be upgraded to benefit pedestrians with a new plaza and better pathways.
Construction has commenced and is projected to be completed in 2028.
