Gamamari is UNSW’s oldest publication, since 1953.
Gamamari recognizes that the land on which we craft our stories, is stolen.
We acknowledge the Bedegal people, the Darug people, the Gandagara people, the Ngunnuwal people, and the Gadigal and Wangal peoples of the Eora Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of UNSW. We also extend it to all First Nations’ people reading, supporting and contributing to our publication.
We acknowledge that Gamamari harbors a legacy that was complicit in the subjugation of the Indigenous community and every step we take henceforth, will be to empower the voices that were dampened for decades.
In our mission to tell true stories, we will always recognize the truth that sovereignty was never ceded. This is, was and always will be Aboriginal land.
